The Final Draft of the First National FSC Standard for Belarus had been approved by the Standards Development Group members and sent to the Policy and Standards Unit (PSU) of FSC International for final comments.
We are pleased to announce that the Final Draft of the First National Forest Stewardship Standard for Belarus, which was developed by a specially created group of national experts, namely National Working Group on Voluntary Forest Certification (Standard Development Group) headed by Ph.D. Maxim V. Yermokhin, was approved, translated and sent to the Policies and Standards Unit of FSC for final comments.
The National Standard, after its approval, publication and after the transitional period, will replace all Interim Standards currently used by Certification Bodies for assessing forest management in Forest Management Units and will become mandatory for all certificate holders.
We would like to thank everyone involved for their contribution to discussions, consultations, and field tests.
We are sure that our joint efforts will bring benefits for Belarusian forests in the nearest future.
